About Randi H.
Once upon a time, there was a stereotypical film nerd. Overweight and awkward, she preferred to spend time fiddling with cameras and editing in her bedroom lair. This turned into an outright passion at which she found herself at The University of Southern California Film School in Los Angeles, CA making films with other filmmakers from around the world.
Today, she spends days using VIDEO to tell stories about emerging memes and the common man. She edits and produces videos about the ENVIRONMENT, hydrogen cars and ways we can do good and well at the same time.
She’s interviewed and edited videos for CEO’s and celebrities ranging from Richard Branson, VINT CERF (co-inventor of the internet), to 50 Cent. She spent a year digitizing Nirvana and Jay-Z Concert Footage for MTV and won a Grant to create an original web series called TASKONOMICS that took her on odd jobs in the Gig Economy (Featured in BusinessInsider.com & Zagat.com)
She also created a video series about the very first iPhone launch for WIRED.COM by sleeping on the streets of SoHo and created a Live-Stream unveiling of the first commercial spaceship . She’s navigated her way through the Department of Homeland Security with a smile and spent 10 years writing Ads for Ogilvy Advertising. She created branded content for AT&T, INKED MAGAZINE, IBM, JOHNSON & JOHNSON, Kodak, MTV, Morgan Stanley, Open Society Foundations, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, PSFK, Sprite, Standard Chartered Bank, DailyMail, The Observer, THE DODO, TDAMERITRADE, The Wall Street Journal and TikTok videos for her NIECE and nephew.
Her Super 8 footage of the Twin Towers falling on 9/11 now lives in the 9/11 Museum. She’s published ‘Guide to Film Schools and TV/Courses’ (Penguin) and followed models around the world for celebrity makeup artist CHARLOTTE TILBURY and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
In her free time, she quotes movies far too often, teaches kids how to tell stories using film and brings joy to children with cancer at RIPRAP FRIENDS. She travels to Rome to find Fellini’s film locations, joins beach cleanups, sweats through and edits for THE CLASS, makes SUPER8FILMS, blogs at WALKOFSHAMES.COM and is currently producing music documentary about MUSIC AT MSG.
And, though, Randi may no longer have her lair to hide in, filmmaking remains her sanctuary.
